National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – September 30, we pause to remember the children, families, and communities who were deeply affected by the residential school system in Canada. At IRES (Islamic Restoration Society), we see this day not only as remembrance but also as a moment for prayer, healing, and hope. The Qur’an reminds us:
“O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or your relatives.” (Qur’an 4:135)

🤲 We remember those we have lost with mercy,
🌿 We honor the courage and strength of survivors,
🕊 And we pray for peace, healing, and justice for all communities.
May we carry the lessons of the past as we build a more compassionate and just future together.
