Restoring Lives, Strengthening Communities
Our Mission and Values
We are guided by dignity, respect, accountability, and community responsibility. These values shape how we design programs, build partnerships, and support individuals who may feel disconnected or discouraged. Our work is grounded in evidence, compassion, and practical solutions, not judgment.
We focus on clear pathways to stability, including housing support, employment referrals, education, and long-term mentorship. Transparency and measurable outcomes are central to our approach, ensuring trust among community members and supporters.
Our goal is to grow as a trusted Muslim charity in Calgary and, over time, across Canada, recognized for integrity, impact, and responsible stewardship.
What We Do
We work across three connected areas: prevention, in-custody support, and reintegration. Our services include:
- Islamic Correctional Programs
We deliver structured educational courses and chaplaincy support within correctional facilities. These programs promote personal development, reduce reoffending, and equip participants with skills and guidance needed after release. This includes prison chaplaincy and Islamic prison ministry (Prison Dawah), delivered in partnership with correctional services. - Islamic Prison Ministry and Inmate Support
We provide faith-sensitive chaplaincy and practical assistance for Muslim inmates and others requesting Islamic support. Volunteers from diverse backgrounds are welcomed and trained to serve in prison ministry roles. - Reintegration Services
We support individuals returning to the community through housing assistance in Calgary, mentorship, pre-release training, and connections to local resources. Our reintegration work focuses on reducing recidivism through stable housing, employment pathways, and sustained support, often in collaboration with IRES Canada and local partners. - Youth Outreach and Mentoring
Our youth programs empower Muslim youth and other young people through mentorship, life-skills development, leadership training, and early-intervention initiatives. These efforts play a vital role in crime prevention and positive community engagement. - Volunteer and Community Engagement
Volunteers are essential to our work. Community members contribute through mentoring, fundraising, program delivery, and outreach, helping us provide consistent and meaningful support.
Impact and Collaboration
We operate as part of a broader ecosystem, working alongside Muslim charities, faith-based organizations, and mainstream service providers. Our volunteer-driven model encourages community members to contribute their time, skills, and expertise.
We maintain clear reporting and accountability processes so supporters can see how contributions are used, whether supporting housing, reintegration services, or inmate programs.
Looking Ahead
Our priorities include expanding youth mentorship networks, strengthening correctional education and chaplaincy services, scaling reintegration pathways that include housing and employment placement, and enhancing volunteer training for prison ministry and outreach work.
We focus on measurable outcomes such as reduced recidivism, improved housing stability, increased youth engagement, and stronger family support systems. Through education, mentoring, and post-release support, we aim to break cycles of reoffending and help individuals rebuild stable lives.
Get Involved
There are many ways to support our mission: contributing financially, such as with general donations, fitrana, zakat, or sadaqah; volunteering in prison ministry or mentorship roles; participating in community outreach; or partnering with us as an organization. We welcome collaborations with charities, faith groups, and community organizations committed to prevention, rehabilitation, and family support.
Closing
Our work addresses complex challenges, supporting individuals impacted by incarceration, strengthening families, guiding youth, and building safer communities. We do this through correctional education, reintegration services, mentorship, and outreach, always rooted in respect for human dignity.
We are grateful to our volunteers, partners, supporters, and staff who make this work possible. If you would like to learn more about getting involved, we invite you to connect with us.
