The Islamic Restoration Society – IRES had the honour of attending the Mayor’s Opening Remarks in Council at Calgary City Hall, where Mayor Jeromy Farkas proclaimed October 2026 as Muslim Heritage Month in Calgary.🎉
We joined community leaders, organizations, and friends in the City Hall Council Chambers on October 6.
This recognition honoured the history, contributions, and lasting impact of Muslims in our city. It was a proud and meaningful moment for our community, and a reminder of the shared values of respect, belonging, and service that bring Calgarians together.
We thank Mayor Farkas and the City of Calgary for this recognition, and we are grateful to the organizers for the invitation and to everyone who came out to represent our community.
